Katie Taintor is a multi-talented performer, thoughtful choreographer and collaborator, and a fiery teaching artist. She strives to create a sense of community with the people she works with and to ignite passion in those around her.

Performer.

As a performer, Katie is lucky to have worked regionally throughout the Twin Cities and tri-state area, and is a proud company member of Collide Theatrical. Her favorite past credits include: A Chorus Line, Dracula, NY Couture Fashion Week, The Mandatory World Tour with "Weird Al" Yankovic at the State Theatre in Minneapolis, and The Blue Jar off-Broadway at the Cherry Lane Theatre in New York.

Katie has trained extensively as a dancer, singer, and actor. She received her BFA in Dance from the University of Minnesota, graduating summa cum laude. Immediately after graduating, Katie moved to New York to work and continue training. As a singer, Katie has studied with Andrew Cooke, Chris Drobny, Dr. Wendy Zaro-Mullins, and Kurt Robinson. Studying both contemporary and classical technique, she has enjoyed singing both as a soloist and as a member of an ensemble. As an actor, Katie trained under Jeffry Denman with a select group of students in New York. Acting from a physical base allows Katie to tap into varied experiences from life in the states and abroad.

Choreographer.

Katie has enjoyed assisting and choreographing for dance studios, soloists, middle schools, high schools, community theater, college, and off-Broadway productions. Working with Linda Talcott Lee to set Michael Bennet's original "A Chorus Line" choreography at St. Olaf College is one of her proudest and most memorable choreographic experiences. She has also enjoyed assisting Jeffry Denman, Katelin Zelon, and Michelle Stuckey in pre-production and workshop phases of their choreographic work. Katie has been lucky to collaborate and create with many talented artists, including Artistic Abandon NYC and Imagine Works at The Players Theatre in the West Village.

Teaching Artist.

Teaching dance is another way that Katie shares her passion for the performing arts. Her experience is varied across all age groups and many styles. From preschoolers to adults; basic to advanced; ballet, jazz, tap, ballroom, theatre, contemporary, and modern, Katie loves it all and she brings this passion and excitement to each of her students. She has taught workshops and private lessons for the famous Broadway Dance Center, assisted The Rockette Experience at Radio City Music Hall, and at dance studios and public schools from the Bronx, NY, to Minneapolis, MN.
